QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The answers you should not have to hunt for.
Plain-language answers about access, market data, model interpretation, strategy lifecycle and live boundaries.
GENERAL
About Meridian
What is Meridian?
Meridian is a market research and decision workspace. Research models frame context; the chart makes a market view explicit; strategies turn rules into documents; automations make runtime behavior observable.
Is Meridian financial advice?
No. Meridian presents analysis, model output and execution records. You remain responsible for decisions, risk, permissions, capital and any action taken from the software.
Do I need an account to read?
The docs, Research journal and Indicators catalog are public reading surfaces. Chart, Orrery, Strategies, Automations, Settings and portfolio surfaces are working surfaces that require the appropriate signed-in access.
Why are some pages in English only?
The current docs guide is intentionally English-only so the product can keep one consistent reference while localized research and indicator routes maintain their own language twins.
RESEARCH
Models and evidence
Does a higher model score mean buy?
No. A score is meaningful only within the model’s definition, normalization and time horizon. Use it as one evidence channel and keep the underlying question visible.
Is historical forward return a forecast?
No. It describes what happened after similar historical states. It cannot promise what will happen next.
Why does a model page show no data?
The page may be loading, the requested data seam may be unavailable or the environment may not have the required backend state. An empty or unavailable result is not a zero market reading.
STRATEGIES
Documents, compile and proof
What does Needs proof mean?
In the library it means the strategy document compiles but its current identity has no non-archived automation link. It does not mean that a backtest has passed or that the strategy is ready for live use.
What does Linked mean?
The current strategy document identity matches an automation revision. Linkage is an identity relationship; it is not a performance guarantee or exchange authorization.
Why is Preview on chart disabled?
The current document must compile before it can be previewed. Resolve the compile review issues, save the document if needed, then preview it against the intended chart context.
AUTOMATIONS
Paper, live and runtime records
Should I start with Paper?
Yes. Paper is the rehearsal layer for observing strategy behavior, accounting and runtime evidence without conflating a simulation with live venue execution.
Can a Live automation place real orders?
Yes, a Live automation can place real orders through a verified connection when provider capability, risk controls, fresh reconciliation and the LIVE_TRADING_ENABLED safety boundary all permit the order. The app explicitly warns that real funds are involved.
Where did my alert go?
Open the automation’s durable Alert history. A toast can disappear with a closed tab, but durable events preserve their identity and read state.
ACCOUNT
Sync, portfolios and access
What is the difference between local-only and synced?
Local-only means the session is not currently backed by the account sync boundary. Synced means the current workspace state has reached the account. Check Settings before assuming a reload will preserve a change.
Why is my portfolio dashboard unavailable?
Either your plan does not include it yet, or the workspace could not be reached. The screen says which — an unavailable summary is not an empty portfolio, so read the sentence rather than assuming the account is blank.
Where do I change theme and density?
Open Settings and choose Workspace. Account sync, portfolios and billing are separate categories in the same control plane.
